This guide will help the vendors and customers (shoppers) understand the requirement to appropriately qualify a product according to its attributes. In detail, you must find all product features in the descriptions of each product.
General Descriptions:
New: This type of product has the original packaging, like a retail store. It must contain all the bundle parts. In all situations, this product has the original manufacturer’s warranty (the vendor must specify). The product must be new, unused, and without damage or marks. The packaging must be new, unopened, or broken. The product must be in excellent working condition.
New-Open Box: a package with a small ripped, a small opening, or the box is missing, but the product is new. It can be a product with protective wrapping packaging for easier shipping. The vendor should be specific on the details. Items are new, unused, and without any damage. All the accessories or bundle pieces must be new, unused, and without damage. All the parts must be sent together if the product comes as a bundle. Must include the instructions, properly working, and have manufacturer’s warranty. Specify that it is not a refurbished item. If the product is food, it cannot be described under this condition. Food must always be in a closed, sealed bag to keep the freshness and conditions of the products.
Slightly Used – Almost New: A well-cared item that has seen limited use and remains in good working condition. The product may show minor indications of stress marks, scratches, or imperfections. The product must be in excellent working condition. The product’s package may be open, without the wrap, or with some flaws. This product comes with all the original parts and instructions. Any imperfection, if any, must be stated in the product description. These types of items are mostly returning or store floor displays.
Used – Satisfactory: Products under this condition are reasonably used. The product must be working correctly. The vendor should state the warranty of the product if any. This product may have minor stress marks, scratches, or imperfections that do not affect the working conditions. Those imperfections must be noted in the description and images (photos). Not all the parts may be present in this type of product (some pieces may be missing), but those missing parts cannot affect the working conditions of the product. You must state the missing parts in the description. This type of condition may show damaged packaging or repack with some kind of packaging other than the original.
Unaccepted: the product is broken, not working correctly, has malfunctioned, has a foul smell, is expired, or is missing vital pieces or accessories. It is prohibited to sell opened over-the-counter medicine (OTC). Any of these general conditions make a product forbidden from selling in Zona Shoppers:
- Opened food/CD/DVD/Game/Media/Music package.
- The product has stains, mildew, odors, or any other agent that affects the product’s quality.
- The product does not agree with federal, state, local or international laws.
- The product goes against the rules of Zona Shoppers.
- The product is part of the Restricted Product Listing.
Manufacturer Refurbished: This condition refers to all products with a pre-owned history. These products have no signs of stress marks, scratches, or imperfections. The product has been professionally restored by a manufacturer or approved manufacturer repair shop to meet the requirement for excellent conditions. The packaging is like retail stores and is closed or sealed. The product must come with a manufacturer’s warranty or re-warranty.
The warranty must state a replacement or refund within 90 days of purchase. If there is an exception to the manufacturer’s warranty, it must be stated in the item’s description. In addition, the product must be in excellent working conditions.
Unacceptable Conditions on a Product
If the products present any of this type of condition, the item is prohibited from being listed on Zona Shoppers:
- Item is not clean, dried up, with mold, stained, or corrosion; it has an odor, ripped (unless part of the style), or heavily imperfect, not applicable to any accepted conditions.
- Computers cannot be listed as used. They must be new or manufacturer’s refurbished with a warranty.
- The product is not working correctly or as intended.
- Products without vital parts necessary for a standard performance or style, excluding packaging and instructions.
- Product in need of repair or service.
- Products that are a reproduction of an original counterfeited, replica, imitations, copyright, trademark infringement, or item with any federal, state, local or international violation.

- Expired products or items. If the date on “Best by” or “Sell by” shows an expired date, the product may present a health risk.
Products without the “Best by” or “Sold by” label cannot be listed.
Products with altered (tampered) “Best by” or “Sell by” products are prohibited from listing.
- Manufacturers have not accepted the product. Suppose a product doesn’t pass a manufacturer’s approval. In that case, it is prohibited from being listed because it may present a risk to the customer’s health.
- Products under refurbished cell phones must have the previous cancel accounts without SIM cards and clean and restore memory.
- Opened food, partially eaten food, expired food, or spoiled food.
- Products labeled as prohibited for commercialization
- Ink cartridge under refurbished or used.
- Copied, backups, stolen, counterfeited, or otherwise not new software programs.
- The product is part of the Restricted Product List.

These types of products can be slightly used, returned, or store floor models. The item cannot have significant imperfections or be broken. It may have all the accessories or parts and must be in wearable condition. The product cannot have any of its features lost, damaged, stained, with mold, or visible unacceptable. All pre-owned articles must be professionally dry cleaned. But suppose you wash the clothing at home. It is necessary to indicate the detergent you used. In the case of babies, they can be allergic to certain chemicals, and it is essential to prevent incidents. The same applies to maternity clothing and all in general.
Unaccepted: the product is broken, not working correctly, has malfunctioned, missing pieces or accessories, stains, odor, mildew, broken, excessive use, stress marks, or alterations cannot be listed on Zona Shoppers. Items rejected by manufacturing are considered a threat in baby/kids/children/girls/boys/youth categories and are prohibited from being listed on Zona Shoppers.

Not all the parts may be present in this type of product (some pieces may be missing), but those missing parts must not be a conflict for the product to work correctly.

This product must be considered in excellent condition.
Collectible-Satisfactory: These collectibles must be in acceptable conditions. It may show a little use but still can be considered in great conditions. The product mostly may show signs of use or age on packaging and instructions. The product must be in working condition. This product must be considered in great condition.
Collectible – Acceptable: The collectible will give little signs of usage, like stress marks, stains, scratches, or imperfections.
This is an item without a package or wrapping but with instructions (with some signs of use or aging). The collectible must be in working conditions. Overall the product is in good condition.
DVDs & Movies, Music, Video Games:
New: video games must come in seal-retail packaging. Open retail packages for video games are not considered new.
No other type of packaging is acceptable. Must follow all rules and regulations. It cannot be counterfeited or a copy. Most are those direct from manufacturers or manufacturer’s representatives (vendors).

It can be handmade under the same previous conditions and must be in the original packaging with the original logos attached. The conditions of the items must be considered excellent. The packaging must be sealed, new, unopened, unbroken, and undamaged. The package must be similar to the one in retail stores. Suppose the product is a homemade product, for example, lotion or soap (not medicinal). In that case, the package can be non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic packaging. These products may come directly from manufacturers or manufacturer’s representatives (vendors). The product must have a label with all the specifications the law requires. In the case of over-the-counter medications (OTC), the package must be sealed as in retail stores. The product must not be expired. If the product (OTC) is expired, opened, or used, the vendor must offer a money-back guarantee. Health products must comply with all rules and regulations.
New-Open Box: this refers to a new product that, for one reason or another, the package got a small ripped, a small opening, or the box is missing, but the product is new. Another reason could be that it is a product with protective wrapping packaging for easier shipping. The vendor should be specific on the details if in need of them. Items are new, unused, unstained, without odor, mildew, or any damaging agent. The package should not have been opened to change the product components. If the product comes as a bundle, then all the parts must be present with the main product.

Unacceptable:
Any product that has been used, opened, marked as testers, manufacturer rejects, or any other condition that shows the product has been used is prohibited from being listed as part of your products. The product must be new, unused, unopened, clean, sealed (in some specific cases), unexpired, and considered in excellent condition.
Any product that has been used opened, testers, manufacture rejects, or any other condition that shows the product has never been used or is not entirely new is prohibited from being listed.
Pet Supplies and Accessories:
New: products must be unopened, unused, and free of damage. The product must be on the original packaging, sealed, or closed. The item may not have the original packaging or wrapping. It may be a return or store floor model. The conditions must be good and must have all the wearable parts. Product returned or store floor display. These conditions are not acceptable for food, medicines, or health products. Any detail must be stated in the description. The product must be in working condition; if not, the vendor must return the money.
Unaccepted: Any item broken or stained, with odor, mildew, stress marks, excessive use, missing components, alterations, or rejection from a manufacturer is prohibited from being listed. Expired products. Products with non-working parts or not fully operational are prohibited from being listed. Items that need service or repairs are prohibited from being listed. Items like open food, medicines, or health products are prohibited from being listed.
Particular emphasis on all Food:
Food must be new and in a good date statement (it cannot be expired). Must have at least 90 days (3 months) before expiration. Any expired food must be removed from the listing immediately. It may represent a hazard for consumption. Food designated by any governmental authority cannot be posted for sale. Food purchased with governmental incentives (food stamps) or as part of the WIC program cannot be sold in Zona Shoppers. You will need to present evidence of purchase upon request if there is a suspicion of inappropriate acts.
